| In September 2002, IPC took over the management of some 475MW of coal-fired installed capacity in Kazakhstan as part of a buy-out of Karaganda Power Company by Integrated Energy Limited, a power generation investment company. This role as Technical Operator of Karaganda TETS 1 and TETS 3 was approved by both the Government of Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ("EBRD"). Both plants were run by IPC's O&M subsidiary, IPOL.
